On April 17th 2008, the conference awarding Wang Ding Yi Cup International Prize for Contribution to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) was held in the People’s Great Hall in Beijing. Mr. Jiang Zhenghua, the vice-chairman of The National People's Congress and Mr. She Jing, the chairman of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and Mr. Li Daning(Deputy Director of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and some other leaders from The Ministry of Civil Affairs, Office of National Award and China Academy of Chinese Traditional Medicine, attended the Conference. The Awarding Conference was Presided over by Mr. Li Zhenji , the Vice-chairman and the Secretary-general of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.

First of all, on the Conference, Mr. She Jing made an oration and then Mr. Li Zhenji announced the awardees and their stories. The leaders awarded the awardees trophies, honorary certificates and prizes. At last, Mr. Li Daning and Mr. Jiang Zhenghua made important speeches.

The assessment for International Prize for Contribution to TCM is based on their contribution, public recognition, international influence and promotion of Chinese medicine to world and so on.

The awardees as follow:

There are six awards of Internaitional Prize for Contribution to TCM, two for groups: Weici hospital of Chinese Medicine (Germany) and Chinese Medicine School of Melbourne University of Science and Technology (Australia). Another 4 awards for persons: Daniel Bensky (Ben Kant America), Li Guoqiao (China), Li Lianda (China) and Han Jisheng(China).
